This page explains what Nuotes collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. If anything here is unclear, email us and ask.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from your Google account. We don't ask for or store a password, since Google sign-in is the only way to authenticate.
We also store the content you give the assistant directly: the notes you ask it to remember, and the full conversation history between you and the assistant. This is the core of what makes Nuotes useful, so it's kept tied to your account rather than discarded after each session.
How we use it
Your account information is used to sign you in and keep your notes scoped to you, and only you. Your messages and notes are sent to our AI so the assistant can understand what you're asking and respond. We don't use your notes to train any model, and we don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
Voice input
The microphone button uses your browser's built-in speech recognition (the Web Speech API). Audio processing for that transcription happens through your browser vendor's own service, for example Chrome's, not through Nuotes. Nuotes only ever receives the final transcribed text, never the raw audio.
Third-party services
Nuotes runs on infrastructure and services provided by a small number of third parties, each handling a specific part of the product:
- Google, for signing in to your account.
- Our AI provider, to process your messages and generate the assistant's responses.
- Cloudflare, which hosts Nuotes and stores your notes, conversation history, and session data.
Each of these providers processes data only as needed to provide their part of the service, under their own privacy terms.
Cookies
Nuotes uses a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived cookie during the Google sign-in flow to prevent request forgery. Both are functional and required for the app to work. Nuotes doesn't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Data retention and deletion
Your notes and conversation history are kept until you ask us to remove them. There's no self-serve account deletion yet. To request that your account and data be deleted, email us and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
Nuotes isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Nuotes after a change means you accept the updated terms.
